Our Deluxe Style of covers are a "Turned Edge" style of cover offering a traditional look. To see the definition of "Turned Edge" style see FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) # 23. The leather we use is an upholstery grade, 1st grade Top Grain Cowhide which is 2 1/2 to 3 ounce or approximately 1/16" thick. If comparing with other binderies be sure that you are getting an equivalent grade of leather and not a bonded leather, which is not the same quality. Note: if ordering the gilded edges on a book, you must send new books. We can not apply gilding to used books.
