Basic Package: Our manuscript preparation for file delivery has a current standard processing time of around 1-2 weeks + up to 3 edits (with a free 15 minute consultation and hourly rate thereafter.)

Deluxe Package: Our manuscript preparation and lulu.com uploading process has a current standard processing time of around 1-2 weeks + up to 3 edits (with a free 15 minute consultation and hourly rate thereafter), after which a proof copy will be ordered for quality review. Once satisfied with the proof, you can notify us to finalize the publication. We will then proceed with your chosen Distribution method/s. There will be a small monthly fee for management with regular updates of sales and ongoing open communication. If you have any questions or need further assistance, our services are here to guide you through every step of the process.

Distribution with Deluxe Package 

You have the option to distribute through the Lulu bookstore, through 40,000+ global retailers using Lulu’s global distribution service, and/or directly through Custom Bookbinding. 

Revenue Explanation

Breakdown of how the revenue total is calculated for print books: Your set price - Lulu print cost - Distribution Fee = Gross Profit - Lulu Share (20% of Gross) = Your Revenue 
  • Print Cost: This is a set cost. Your list price must be at least twice the print cost in order to cover production and Distribution Fees. 
  • Distribution Fees: 50% of the retail price goes to the distribution channel through Lulu Global Distribution. For books sold through Custom Bookbinding this fee is 30% of retail price + fulfillment fee. There are no Distribution Fees for books sold on the Lulu Bookstore. 
  • Gross Profit: Revenue remaining after Print Cost and Distribution Fees. Lulu Share: 20% of Gross Profit 
  • Your Revenue: 80% of Gross Profit


*Professional formatting to ensure your manuscript meets Lulu.com’s upload requirements, includes but is not limited to:

  • Adjusting page layout (margins, headers, footers) to fit Lulu’s specifications.
  • Selecting appropriate fonts and sizes for readability.
  • Ensuring consistent line spacing and paragraph formatting.
  • Ensuring the high resolution resolution images are properly placed within the text.
  • Adjusting image sizes to fit the layout without distortion, along with captions or alt text if necessary.
  • Ensuring proper alignment, spacing, and overall presentation for a polished look.
  • Formatting the title page, copyright page, and dedication (if applicable).
  • Creating a table of contents and chapter headings as needed with correct pages numbers
  • Formatting chapter titles and subheadings for consistency.
  • Formatting any additional sections, such as acknowledgments, author bio, or index.
  • Conducting a thorough review of the entire document to catch any formatting errors or inconsistencies.
  • Creating a simple custom cover that aligns with the book’s content (if applicable).
  • Ensuring the cover meets Lulu.com’s specifications, including dimensions and file type (usually PDF)(if applicable).
